Environmental portrait workshop with Dave Brosha
Recently I had a chance to attend a workshop on environmental portrait photography with Dave Brosha, a Canadian photographer based in Yellowknife, NWT. Dave is a rising star in the Canadian photo industry, specializing in commercial, wedding, and portrait imagery. After checking out his on-line portfolio, I got intrigued and decided that it is worth my effort to drive to attend his workshop that took place in Canmore, Alberta. Fall colours along South Saskatchewan River at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Saskatoon. This image was taken on the east edge of the Opimihaw Creek valley, very close to a spot where eroding action of the South Saskatchewan River forms steep cliffs called Cathedral Peak. A 1.3 km long Trail of the Buffalo leads from the Information centre to a rest stop with a bench, and a magnificent view of the valley & South Saskatchewan River below. Fall colours along South Saskatchewan River at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Saskatoon. Close-up of fall colours in Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Saskatoon. This images was taken along the walking trail in Opimihaw Creek valley. Patchy forest stands of balsam poplar, green ash, Manitoba maple, trembling aspen and birch offer a variety of colour when the season is right. The understory is also rich in diferse species, with choke cherry, rose, snowberry, and saskatoon berry leaves adding to the autumn palette. Back to the Wanuskewin Heritage Park photo gallery.
