Grasslands National Park
Grasslands National Park is one of two national parks in Saskatchewan, located in southwestern portion of the province near
the U.S. border. It was created to protect and promote conservation of mixed-grass prairie ecosystem. The park and surrounding area is
the only place in Canada where colonies of the black-tailed prairie dogs can be found. It is also home to several rare and endangered species.
The West Block near Val Marie, with the meandering Frenchman River, has more open valleys and gently rolling prairie landscapes.
