Book launch: Sleeping with Rhinos by Robin and Arlene Karpan
Saskatchewan photographers and good friends Robin and Arlene Karpan are launching their latest book Sleeping with Rhinos – Journeys to Wild Places, featuring twelve of the world’s most spectacular wilderness areas; from Africa to Patagonia, from the Arctic to Antarctica, and even north Saskatchewan. The Karpans’ adventures range from white-out blizzards while living in an igloo in the Arctic, a flash flood in the Kalahari Desert, an attack by a bad-tempered moose, and waking up to five rhinos having a scuffle outside their small tent. In late August of 2013, Facebook announced that it is planning to change two important “fine print” documents – the Data Use Policy and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. Fireworks display lit up the night sky during the 6th annual PotashCorp Fireworks Festival in Saskatoon last Friday and Saturday. The fireworks were launched from the Broadway Bridge in downtown Saskatoon. Royal Pyrotechnie lit up the skies on Friday, and ProFX Inc. were in charge on Saturday. ProFX Inc. has delivered the fireworks show for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as well as four Grey Cups.
