Autumn in Prince Albert National Park

Autumn in Prince Albert National Park

At the end of September I led a photography tour to Prince Albert National Park in northern Saskatchewan. We were fortunate this year to be in the park right at the time when leaf colours were starting to change into the full glory of autumn colours. The weather was also very cooperative; early in the weekend we had some interesting clouds for late afternoon and sunset photography. Saturday was overcast which allowed us to spend more time inside the woods and focus on colour patterns and details on the forest floor. It cleared overnight and on Sunday morning we enjoyed photographing gentle fog rolling over the Waskesiu Lake. Later on that day, we were able to capture various shades of yellow and red against a clear blue sky. Here are a few images captured in Prince Albert National Park that weekend. I would like to thank the photo tour participants for their friendship, laughter and great discussion. Illustrated talk: Iceland – a Photographer’s Dream

I will be presenting an illustrated talk “Iceland – a Photographer’s Dream” for the Northern Image Photographers camera club on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7 p.m. The presentation will be held at the Prince Albert Arts Centre, 1010 Central Avenue – the old opera house building in front of the City Hall in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. In the summer of 2012, I joined a group of 14 photographers on a photo tour of Iceland. This island country in northern Atlantic is relatively small, but offers an amazing array of opportunities for landscape photography: vast glaciers with calving icebergs, stark volcanic lava beds, bubbling hot mud pools and countless waterfalls. My presentation includes highlights from the trip, and tips for anyone planning to visit this fantastic photo destination. I selection of images from the trip can be seen in the Iceland Photo Gallery.  ...
