World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on June 5th, to raise global awareness and positive action for the environment. The UN General Assembly declared 2014 as the International Year of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and the 2014 World Environment Day will shine a spotlight on issues facing the SISD in light of climate change. The second annual Wild about Saskatoon’s NatureCity Festival wrapped up last weekend. It was a great festival, with a splendid mix of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. Last weekend I led a nature photography field trip as part of the 2014 Jane’s Walk in Saskatoon. In spite of the cold and breezy weather, an enthusiastic crow of about 20 people joined me for a photo walk along the Meewasin Trail in downtown Saskatoon. Last month was quite busy and productive. Several magazine articles with my images appeared in print.
